Rep. Correa Denounces The Prevalence of Sexual Assault In The United States

Washington, DC—Congressman Lou Correa released this statement.

Rep. Correa said, “Sexual assault has no place in our society. Sexual predators abuse their power with a complete disregard for their victims, causing damage that follow victims for the rest of their lives.

Sadly, the social stigma surrounding sexual assault and harassment bars victims from coming forward. Even today, victims still fear that their livelihood and reputation will be damaged.

I ask victims to step forward and tell their stories. You are not alone, and you don’t need to be silent.”
